What happened to January? I looked up from my drafting table and it was the middle of February. I will say this again, kudos to those people who can find not only material to post on a blog weekly, heck daily, but also the time! Between, painting, working, parenting, and watching bad reality T.V. ( I can’t believe I have admitted that) I can’t seem to find the time to sit and write a small post. This month I will write twice to make up for last month. It will be difficult considering this is a short month and all! I may even stay up past 10:00 pm to do it, but I will find the time!
This month, which I’m pretending is last month, I was invited to a baby shower for a very dear friend. For these types of occasions, I like to make my gifts. I like to give something special and unique. I came up with the idea after an Austin SCBWI art auction. We painted on a wood frame and since then, I’ve been addicted to the look. I have a stack of unpainted frames just waiting for the proper occasion. Baby showers are my favorite. I use a crackle technique that gives the frame and antiqued look. I also decided that the theme would be fish because the father to be is a HUGE fishing guy. He loves it. I thought if I made the image on the frame a little guppy, both parents would like it. Fingers crossed!!!
